Jimena Tuis, M.D.

Jimena Tuis, M.D., is double board certified in General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, providing evidence-based treatments with medication management and therapy.
Dr. Tuis has more than eight years of experience in the field. Her different areas of expertise include anxiety and depressive disorders. She also provides management for patients with traumatic stress, life transitions, grief, family stress, and illness. She addresses concerns about eating disorders, body-image issues, and gender and sexuality development. Dr. Tuis additionally specializes in attention deficit disorders and school-related problems, including bullying and academic performance. She is a liaison with schools, peers, and families.
History
Dr.Tuis began her medical studies in La Unviersita Degli Studi in Udine, Italy. She completed her Medical Degree from Universidad Anahuac, Mexico in 2008. She then completed a Visiting Fellowship on Transference Focused Psychotherapy at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Tuis did her Psychiatry Residency Program in Baystate Medical Center, Tufts University Program. During residency, she was granted the Educational Outreach Program Award for General Psychiatry Residents by the American Academy of Psychiatry. Afterwards, she sub-specialized in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Yale Child Study Center. She was awarded the Yale Melvin Lewis Award for her commitment to excellence in medical student education. Since graduation in 2015, Dr. Tuis has served as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Yale Child Study Center. She also serves as an inpatient psychiatrist at the Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital.
